The San Francisco 49ers are Miami-bound in Week 16 for their second-to-last road trip of the regular season. The red and gold will once again look to the "next man up" in the running back corps to lead San Francisco's ground game. Rookie Isaac Guerendo was officially ruled out against the Dolphins as he deals with a foot sprain and hamstring issue. That means Patrick Taylor Jr. is set to make his first-career NFL start on Sunday afternoon. The fourth-year pro has appeared in 10 games for the 49ers in 2024, contributing on special teams and to the rushing attack.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, defensive lineman Nick Bosa and linebacker Dre Greenlaw head into the weekend with a questionable injury designation. Bosa was able to rejoin the team in a limited capacity on Friday after being sidelined with a hip/oblique injury on Wednesday and Thursday.
