Power Rankings: Where the 49ers Stand Headed Into Week 4

The San Francisco 49ers are looking for a bounce back game in Week 4 as they return home to Levi's® Stadium. A lengthy list of injuries has created some early adversity for the reigning NFC Champions who are now 1-2 on the year following their 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

In spite of the outcome, this weekend's NFC West opener was not without its bright spots. Quarterback Brock Purdy penned his name to the history books recording a 137.1 passer rating, which marks his ninth career game with a passer rating of 130.0-or-higher. He has now surpassed Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (eight games) for the most games with a passer rating of 130.0-or-higher by a quarterback in his first three seasons in NFL history. In addition, wide receiver Jauan Jennings posted a career high in receptions (11), receiving yards (175) and touchdowns (three). His eye-popping stats made him just the second player in franchise history to register 10-or-more receptions, 150-or-more receiving yards and three-or-more receiving touchdowns in a single game, joining wide receiver Jerry Rice, who accomplished the feat three times.

Let's take a look at what national outlets had to say about the 49ers roster following their Week 3 performance:

Eric Edholm, Lead Draft Writer

"I figured that the 49ers would have some fits offensively here and there against the Rams, given their injury woes leading up to the game. But for three-plus quarters, they still had the right formula to win."

Nick Wagoner, ESPN NFL Nation

Bleacher Report NFL Staff Writers

Mike Florio, Editor in Chief of Pro Football Talk

"f they can weather the storm of injuries, they can still be very competitive."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports Senior Writer

"It's hard to believe they are 1-2, but when you lose stars it's tough to overcome it."
