Power Rankings: Where the 49ers Stand Headed Into Week 5

The San Francisco 49ers are back on track following their dominant 30-13 win over the New England Patriots and now find themselves in the top ten of the NFL power rankings of several national outlets.

Big performances from running back Jordan Mason (24 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown), tight end George Kittle (four catches for 45 yards and a touchdown), quarterback Brock Purdy (15-of-27 passes completed for 288 yards and touchdown) and more racked up 30 points for the offense in Week 4. On the other side of the ball, a defense dealing with multiple injuries rose to the occasion with a collection of splash plays including a pick-six from linebacker Fred Warner and 6.0 sacks from a defensive line fresh off the loss of veteran Javon Hargrave.

San Francisco's upcoming schedule keeps them at home for three of the next four games, and the team enters the week with six players that are day-to-day with injuries.

Let's take a look at what national outlets had to say about the 49ers roster following their Week 4 performance:

Eric Edholm, Lead Draft Writer

"Cleaning things up during this next four-game span -- and getting better injury luck -- will be absolutely critical to getting back to where they want to be."

Nick Wagoner, ESPN NFL Nation

Bleacher Report NFL Staff Writers

"... And on the heels of an efficient day offensively and a stout effort defensively, the Niners got a three-score win in Santa Clara on Sunday. Edge-rusher Nick Bosa told reporters that while some on the outside may have lost confidence in the Niners, they never wavered inside the building."

Mike Florio, Editor in Chief of Pro Football Talk

"They're still one of the best teams in the league, when healthy. (They're pretty damn good when not healthy.)"

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports Senior Writer

"They beat up on a New England team they were supposed to beat. But the injuries are still impacting this team, which is why we haven't seen their best."
