Defensive Lineman Yetur Gross-Matos Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Congratulations are in order for defensive lineman Yetur Gross-Matos! The veteran D-lineman was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after racking up 3.0 sacks of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in Week 14. He was part of a larger, 7.0 sack effort by San Francisco's defensive line in the team's 38-13 victory on Sunday afternoon. Gross-Matos closed out the game with four total tackles and 3.0 sacks.

Gross-Matos is in his first season with the 49ers and fifth in the league, coming to San Francisco via free agency from the Carolina Panthers earlier this year. He spent part of the year on the Injured Reserve list but battled back from his knee injury to be an important role player for the red and gold down the stretch. He has amassed four sacks for the 49ers over his last four outings.
