San Francisco 49ers receiver Ricky Pearsall is one step closer to completing his comeback. The 49ers 2024 first-round draft pick was the victim of an armed robbery attempt in San Francisco at the end of August that ultimately sidelined him through this early portion of the season.
The team announced on Monday afternoon they have opened Pearsall's practice window from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list, and shortly after, he made his return to the practice field for the team's bonus workout following their Week 6 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
The open portion of practice was brief, but Pearsall was seen running through warmups and breaking down the huddle.
On Friday, head coach Kyle Shanahan shared the team's outlook on Pearsall returning to practice and his potential availability against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. He also reiterated the team's approach to his recovery.
"I would think it'd be a longer ramp-up period, but health-wise and everything, he is totally good to go," Shanahan said. "But, I really won't decide that stuff until we start watching him practice. We're not going to rush it or anything. If he's ready, he's ready. And if he's not, we've got a few weeks."
