The green carpet was rolled out and some of the biggest sports celebrities in the game were on hand for the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix's "Receiver" on Tuesday night. The eight-episode series is the second iteration of the streaming platform's widely successful series "Quarterback" and was produced by Omaha Productions, 2PM Productions and NFL Films.
"Receiver" follows the lives of five NFL pass catchers on and off the field over the course of the 2023 season. The star-studded cast includes George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers), Deebo Samuel Sr. (San Francisco 49ers), Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings) and Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders).
The 49ers are heavily featured in "Receiver" with both Kittle and Samuel Sr. selected as cast members for the series. "The People's Tight End" was in attendance for Tuesday evening's screening alongside his wife Claire Kittle, family, friends including teammate Kyle Juszczyk and his wife Kristin Juszczyk.
"What's up Niners!" Kittle said. "Me and Claire are here on the green of 'Receiver' having a great time, waiting to see the premiere. (I) hope you guys enjoy it, hope you guys catch it and start streaming on July 10.
"Enjoy yourselves, have so much fun, and the season is only two weeks away. Let's get after it. Bang bang!"
The series is now streaming on globally on Netflix.
