Bosa, Ward Active for Week 3 vs. Rams; Inactives for #SFvsLAR

The San Francisco 49ers are down several of their top playmakers headed into their first divisional game of the year. Over the course of the last week, the red and gold placed running back Christian McCaffrey, who was placed on the Injured Reserve list, sidelined "wideback" Deebo Samuel Sr. for the next couple weeks due to a calf strain and, as of yesterday, shut down tight end George Kittle for Sunday's contest because of a hamstring injury. That means in Week 3, the 49ers are looking to a number of players - Jauan Jennings, Brandon Aiyuk, Isaac Guerendo, Jacob Cowing and Eric Saubert - to step in and help power the offense against the Los Angeles Rams.

The couple of question marks headed into the weekend, defensive lineman Nick Bosa and cornerback Charvarius Ward, were given the green light to suit up, so San Francisco's defense will be fully intact. The 49ers are also officially set to welcome back safety Talanoa Hufanga for this first NFC West showdown. He is active for the first time since suffering an ACL tear in the second half of the 2023 season.
