The San Francisco 49ers are ringing in the official start of the 2024 NFL regular season with the announcement of their eight team captains. This group is voted on by their teammates for their leadership and this time around, includes seven players who have previously been captains - LT Trent Williams, LB Fred Warner, TE George Kittle, WR Deebo Samuel Sr., QB1 Brock Purdy, DL Nick Bosa and RB Christian McCaffrey - and first timer FB Kyle Juszczyk. Head coach Kyle Shanahan delivered the news on Thursday in his first press conference of the practice week.
Williams, Kittle and Warner will be will be wearing a gold "C" to recognize five or more years served as a team captain. Williams, formerly with the Washington Commanders, has been named a captain for 12 of his 15 seasons in the NFL, and 2024 marks his fifth season in this role with San Francisco. Kittle has been voted in as team captain every year of his playing career outside of his rookie season.

- LB Fred Warner - 5th season as captain
- T Trent Williams - 5th season as a captain in SF, previously a captain for the Washington Commanders (2011-2017)
- RB Christian McCaffrey - 1st season as a captain in SF, previously a caption for the Carolina Panthers (2019-2022)
- WR Deebo Samuel Sr. - 2nd season as captain
- QB Brock Purdy - 2nd season as captain
- DL Nick Bosa- 2nd season as a captain
- FB Kyle Juszczyk - 1st season as a captain
