The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have placed LB Dre Greenlaw on the Injured Reserve List and signed OL Zack Johnson to the team's practice squad.
Johnson (6-6, 301) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2020. Throughout his career, Johnson has spent time on the practice squads with the Packers (2020-21), Arizona Cardinals (2021), Denver Broncos (2022), Baltimore Ravens (2022), Tennessee Titans (2022-23) and Cleveland Browns (2024), and has appeared in one game with the Titans in 2022. He also spent the 2023 season with the United Football League's (UFL) Birmingham Stallions. In 2024, Johnson signed with the Browns on July 29 and was released by the team on August 26.
A 27-year-old native of Apple Valley, MN, Johnson attended North Dakota State University (2015-19) where he appeared in 54 games and earned First-Team All American (2018).
Greenlaw (6-0, 230) started two games and registered 9 tackles in 2024.
