Stats and Facts: 49ers 2025 Free Agent Signings 

The San Francisco 49ers signed their first wave of free agents shortly after the start of the new league year, bringing in talent from all over the NFL to ready the roster for 2025. As of Tuesday afternoon, the organization has signed a total of nine free agents that include quarterback Mac Jones, tight end Luke Farrell, wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, cornerback Tre Brown, linebacker Luke Gifford, safeties Richie Grant, long snapper Jon Weeks, safety Jason Pinnock, and CB Siran Neal.

To get better acquainted with some of the newest faces on San Francisco's roster, below is breakdown of the free agents' most eye-catching stats and interesting facts from their previous career stops.

  • Jones was a first-round selection (15th-overall pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.
  • He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Patriots (2021-23) and last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
  • Jones earned Pro Bowl honors and was a finalist for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2021. That year, he connected on 352 of his 521 pass attempts for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. On the ground, he added 44 carries for 129 rushing yards.
  • The tight end was previously with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2021-24) and signed a three-year deal with the 49ers.
  • Farrell played with current 49ers defensive lineman Nick Bosa in 2017 and a portion of 2018 season.
  • Per Pro Football Focus, Farrell closed out the 2024 season with an 82.6 pass-blocking grade, making him the second-best pass-blocking tight end last season.
  • Most recently with the Los Angeles Rams (2023-24) but has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs (2016-21) and Baltimore Ravens (2022).
  • The wide receiver signed a two-year deal that will keep him in The Bay through the 2026 season.
  • In 2024, Robinson registered career highs in receiving yards (505), yards per reception (16.3) and touchdowns (seven).
  • Brown was fourth-round selection of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and signed a one-year deal with San Francisco.
  • Ten of the cornerback's 13 starts have come over the last two seasons, and between 2023 and 2024, Brown has amassed 60 total tackles, two interceptions (one of which was returned for a touchdown), seven passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and 1.0 sack.
  • Gifford began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys and went on to play four seasons (2019-22) with them and spent the last two years (2023-24) with the Tennessee Titans.
  • The linebacker is coming off a career year in which he tallied 49 total tackles, an interception and two passes defensed.
  • Gifford is also a reliable member on special teams coverage units. In 2024, he recorded 14 special teams tackles which were good for fifth-most in the league.
  • Grant was a second-round pick (40th-overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and signed a one-year deal with the 49ers.
  • In four seasons, he appeared in 67 games (33 starts) and registered 264 tackles, 17 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, 3.0 sacks, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.
  • In addition to bringing a significant amount of starting experience, he also has played a role on special teams coverage units, adding 10 special teams tackles in his four seasons.
  • The veteran long snapper entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and has played his entire 15-season career with the Houston Texans.
  • Weeks has appeared in 244 games and recorded 40 special teams tackles over the course of his career.
  • He earned Pro Bowl honors in the 2015 season.
  • Pinnock was a fifth-round pick (175th-overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and went on to play the next three seasons (2022-24) for the New York Giants. He signed a one-year deal with the 49ers.
  • He has appeared in 58 games (39 starts) and registered 223 tackles, 11 passes defensed, 6.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and one fumble recovery. Of those 39 starts, 32 have come over the course of the last two seasons.
  • Pinnock has NFL experience at both the cornerback and safety positions.
  • Neal was a fifth-round pick (154th-overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He spent the first six seasons of my career (2018-23) with Buffalo before spending the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins.
  • He signed a two-year deal with San Francisco through the 2026 season.
  • Neal has appeared in 114 games (one start) and registered 66 tackles, seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 1.0 sack on defense. He also recorded 60 special teams tackles in those seven seasons.
