San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. recently announced a $20,000 donation to help his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina, recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene.
The storm has caused significant damage and loss of life in the area, with Spartanburg County reporting nine storm-related deaths, including multiple fatalities from traffic accidents linked to fallen trees and power outages.

"I do it for my community," Samuel Sr. said. "As athletes, a lot of people look up to us, and I want to be a voice that inspires others to take action and make a difference in their own hometowns."
