The San Francisco 49ers hosted their annual Hope for the Holidays event at Levi's® Stadium, spreading joy to 125 families in need this holiday season. Presented by U.S. Bank, the drive-thru distribution in the stadium parking lot offered groceries, toys, shoes, eyewear and home appliances to underserved families in partnership with eight local nonprofits and schools.
Along the event route, families made four stops where they received a variety of gifts just in time for the holidays. These donated gifts included produce boxes, turkeys, grocery gift cards, holiday treats, air purifiers, pots and pans and more. Toys for Tots, Shoe Palace and Zenni Optical were also on hand to gift toys, Crocs and eyewear.
In a festive atmosphere filled with holiday music and bright signage, 49ers players, their families, and volunteers all wearing Santa hats worked together to fill cars with these much-needed resources. Players like Brock Purdy, Curtis Robinson, Nick Bosa, George Kittle, Chris Conley, Kyle Juszczyk, Javon Hargrave and others joined in to give back to their local community. They also took time to meet and greet with fans, making the day even more special for everyone involved.
"The big focus for today is on all the kids that come through," 49ers community relations senior manager Saya Lindsay said. "We don't want them to remember this as a moment where they had to come and get something they needed. Instead, they came to a really fun holiday festival, they met some of their heroes and they happened to get shoes, groceries, something that they needed. So, the overarching memory is something that's really special for them, and it takes a lot of that burden off of their families."
Families were treated to hot cocoa provided by Peet's Coffee while they waited, and children were entertained with coloring books, board games and stickers.
The event was made possible through the generosity of many, ensuring that every family left with everything they needed to make the season brighter. For yet another year, the 49ers successfully brought the community together to celebrate the holiday season and spread joy to those who need it most.
