49ers Sign Defensive Lineman Jonathan Garvin to the Practice Squad

The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed DL Jonathan Garvin to the team's practice squad.

Garvin (6-4, 257) was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (242^nd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Throughout his three-year NFL career with the Packers (2020-22), Garvin has appeared in 38 games (one start) and registered 32 tackles, two passes defensed and 1.5 sacks. Following his release from the Packers on July 28, 2023, Garvin spent time with the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League (USFL) where he registered 19 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Garvin most recently signed to the 49ers practice squad on October 2, 2024 and was released from the practice squad on October 24.

A 25-year-old native of Lake Worth Beach, FL, Garvin attended the University of Miami (2017-19), where he appeared in 38 games (24 starts) and registered 106 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, five passes defensed and four forced fumbles.
