The San Francisco 49ers improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1990 and the fourth time in franchise history following their 20-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams. It also marked the fewest net yards by the Rams since Week 17 of the 2016 season against the Arizona Cardinals [123 total yards (52 rushing and 71 passing)].
- The 49ers defense held the Rams to 48 yards passing, the fewest by an opponent since Week 17, 2010 at St. Louis Rams (22 yards).
- In Weeks 5-6 this season, the 49ers defense held each opponent to 180-or-less total net yards [180 yards vs. Cleveland Browns; 165 yards at Rams]. The last time the team held an opponent to 180-or-less total yards in consecutive games was in 1990 [Week 10, 1990 at Dallas Cowboys [158 yards (78 rushing and 80 passing)]; Week 11 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers [180 yards (102 rushing and 78 passing)].
- The 49ers defense held the Rams to 22 net passing yards in the first half, the lowest by the Rams in a first half since head coach Sean McVay was hired by Los Angeles in 2017.
- The 49ers defense's 22 net yards passing allowed in the first half were the fewest allowed in the first half of a game since allowing -1 net passing yards in the first half vs. Chicago (Week 11, 2012).
- San Francisco held the Rams without a third (0-9) or fourth (0-4) down conversion on the day. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time the 49ers held an opponent without a third or fourth down conversion in a game was Oct. 1988 at the Rams (0-7 on third down and 0-1 on fourth down).
Player Notes
- Garoppolo completed 24-of-33 attempts (72.7% percent) for 243 yards and a passer rating of 80.7 against the Rams.
- Garoppolo also rushed for a 1-yard touchdown, marking the second rushing score of his career.
- San Francisco's quarterback improved to 13-2 as a starter in the NFL, becoming the eighth quarterback in the Super Bowl era to win 13 of his first 15 career starts.

Dee Ford

- On the first play of the second half, Armstead recovered a Rams fumble, marking the first fumble recovery of his career. The fumble recovery led to Garoppolo's 1-yard touchdown run.
- Armstead also registered 0.5 sack on the day. He now has 2.5 sacks on the season and 11.5 for his career.
Solomon Thomas
- Thomas brought down Jared Goff for an 8-yard loss. He now has 2.0 sacks on the season and 6.0 in his career.
Ronald Blair III
- Blair III brought down Goff for a 5-yard sack. He now has 2.0 sacks on the season and 12.5 for his career.
- Coleman registered 18 carries for 45 yards and a 2-yard touchdown run, marking his second touchdown of the season and 20th of his career.
- Kittle finished the day with eight receptions for 103 yards (12.9 average). It marked his first 100-yard game of the season and the sixth of his career.
- His 45-yard reception in the second quarter was 49ers longest passing play of season.
- Kittle tallied more receiving yards than the entire Rams team combined (78).
- San Francisco's tight end has a team-high 338 receiving yards and 10 straight games of 50-plus receiving yards.
- Kittle's 50-plus receiving yards through 10 straight games is the second-longest active streak in NFL (Travis Kelce - 12)
- The tight end's 50-plus receiving yards through 10-straight games is the longest streak by a member of the 49ers since Jerry Rice (10) between 1995 and 1996.
