The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed OL Brandon Parker to a one-year deal. In order to make room on the roster, the team placed WR Ricky Pearsall on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List. In addition, the team signed DL Sam Okuayinonu to the team's practice squad and released OL Sebastian Gutierrez.
Parker (6-8, 320) was originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round (65th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Throughout his five-year career with the Raiders (2018-23), he has appeared in 59 games (33 starts) and started in one postseason contest. In 2023, Parker appeared in five games (one start) with Las Vegas. Parker originally signed with the 49ers on March 18, 2024 and was waived by the team on August 27.
A 28-year-old native of Kannapolis, NC, Parker attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for five seasons (2013-17) where he started in 48 games. Parker was named the MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Year in consecutive seasons (2015-16) and was a three-time All-MEAC selection (2015-17).
Okuayinonu (6-1, 269) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. Throughout his two-year NFL career with the Tennessee Titans (2022-23), he has appeared in six games and registered 11 tackles and 0.5 sack between the team's active roster and practice squad. In 2023, Okuayinonu signed a Reserve/Future contract with Tennessee on January 10 and was waived by the team on August 31. Okuayinonu originally signed with the 49ers on February 13, 2024 and was waived by the team on August 29.
A 26-year-old native of Lowell, MA, Okuayinonu attended the University of Maryland (2019-21), where he appeared in 29 games and registered 103 tackles and 7.5 sacks.
Pearsall (6-3, 192) was originally drafted by the 49ers in the first round (31st overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Gutierrez (6-5, 308) originally signed to the team's practice squad on August 28.
