What the 49ers and Packers Had to Say Following Week 12

The San Francisco 49ers fell to the Green Bay Packers 38-10 at Lambeau Field in Week 12. Here's what both teams had to say following the contest:

Niners Liners

San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan on the team's matchup vs. the Packers:

"That's a good o-line. They (Packers) have a good scheme. They ran the ball well. ... We are missing some guys, especially some of the more physical guys in terms of like Dre Greenlaw and some of our D-lineman, and losing our biggest run-stopper in Jordan Elliott during that game. We're missing some guys out there which makes a difference, but I thought that they did better in the run game in the second half. Offensively, I don't think we are lacking physicality. We just didn't get our run game going today and a lot of that has to do with not attempting to do much of it too."

Shanahan on his evaluation of QB Brandon Allen's performance:

"No one played that great, but Brandon, I thought he did some good things. I thought he made some big throws. Just the plays I can think of, he had a rough one in the beginning that he threw to them that they dropped. Two plays later he just slipped on that field that hurt us. But I thought Brandon made some big throws and stuff and gave us a chance."

Quarterback Brandon Allen getting into a rhythm:

"We started out really slow. It took me a minute just to get back into it. So, we started slow, which didn't help. It didn't help our defense at all. Started to build some momentum there at the end of the half and going into the second half. Had some drives going, but penalties and turnovers really killed us all day today."

Allen on keeping the 49ers in the game:

"I don't think we ever felt that we were out of it, especially getting the ball in the second half after scoring late in the first and then getting the ball in the second half and getting that drive going a little bit and then stalling out. That got us to fourth down. We didn't get it. We knew if we went down and scored and made it a one-score game there, we would be right back in it, but unfortunately those first two drives I think we got some momentum going, but we didn't capitalize."

Packers Quotes

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur on the win against San Francisco:

"When we have an opportunity to put them away, you have to take advantage of that. Credit to them, that's obviously a really well coached team. They still have some star players over there and they continue to compete. That's one thing you can always expect from Kyle (Shanahan) and his group. They face adversity the best and they're able to overcome it. They're able to overcome it. That's why they're such a tough team to beat."

Packers quarterback Jordan Love on facing the 49ers for the first time since the NFC Divisional Round:

"It's huge, we talked about it all week. The fact that they knocked us out last time we played them, we lost. We knew it was going to be a four-quarter fight and them not having guys out there, it's tough for them but it feels good to be able to go out there and have a win like this. We're going to move past it now, but definitely feels good."
