Carlson (6-5, 219) was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round (207th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. As a rookie in 2023, he appeared in 17 games where he connected on 27 of his 33 field goal attempts (81.8%) and 34 of his 39 extra point attempts (87.2%). Carlson appeared in two postseason contests where he connected on two of his three field goal attempts and seven of his eight extra point attempts.
