The veteran D-lineman was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after racking up 3.0 sacks of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in Week 14. He was part of a larger, 7.0 sack effort by San Francisco's defensive line in the team's 38-13 victory on Sunday afternoon. Gross-Matos closed out the game with four total tackles and 3.0 sacks.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is one of six players nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of Week 14 Award after posting six catches on six targets for 151 yards and touchdown versus the Chicago Bears. Kittle's 151 receiving yards are a season-high and allowed him to eclipse a significant NFL benchmark. With his third catch of the day against the Bears, the eighth-year pro became the third tight end in NFL history to register 500-or-more receptions and 7,000-or-more receiving yards in his first eight NFL seasons, joining former tight end Antonio Gates and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
