Training Camp Day 5: Padded Practices Begin, Pearsall Comes Off NFI List
Training Camp Notebook
- Ahead of practice No. 5, the 49ers activated wide receiver Ricky Pearsall from the Active/Non-Football Injury List.
- DL Nick Bosa, FB Kyle Juszczyk, OL Jake Brendel and RB Christian McCaffrey took a veteran rest day on Monday.
- Other players that did not practice on Monday include RB Isaac Guerendo (hamstring), WR Jacob Cowing (hamstring), WR Tay Martin (hamstring) and OL Spencer Burford (hand).
- Head coach Kyle Shanahan shared that timelines for Cowing and Martin, who suffered lighter grade hamstring injuries, have a roughly a 10-day timeline for return.
- The head coach added that no decision has been made on whether or not Burford should undergo surgery for his broken hand.
- DL Drake Jackson (knee) is not expected to make his return from the PUP list during training camp.
- During special teams, WRs Pearsall, Trent Taylor and Ronnie Bell were returning punts.
- K Jake Moody hit all four of his field goal attempts on the day.
- DL Leonard Floyd opened up red zone drills by getting into the backfield for a pressure, forcing QB Brock Purdy out of the pocket.
