Two members of the San Francisco 49ers earned recognition following the Week 11 come-from-behind victory. Jimmy Garoppolo has been nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week honor and wide receiver Deebo Samuel is up for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award following the 49ers 36-26 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Garoppolo is coming off a career performance where the quarterback threw for a career-high 424 passing yards, career-high tying four touchdowns, two interceptions and a passer rating of 115.4. His 424 passing yards in Week 11 are the most by a 49ers quarterback since Jeff Garcia threw for 437 yards in 1999.
In his third nomination of the season, and second when facing the Cardinals (Week 9), Garoppolo is up against quarterbacks Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award.
Voting is open until Thursday at 12:00 p.m. PT at NFL.com/FedEx. Fans can also vote on Twitter using the NFL published polls.
Samuel hauled in eight receptions for a career-high 134 yards in the 49ers comeback victory, his second-straight 100-yard performance. The rookie wideout's most impressive reception came on a bobbled pass in between two defenders for a 26-yard gain.
Six of Samuel's eight catches on Sunday went for first downs. The rookie currently leads all NFL wide receivers with 12 missed tackles through 11 weeks. Samuel is averaging 7.2 yards per reception after the catch which is the most of any receiver with 25-plus receptions on the year.
Week 11 marks Samuel's second Pepsi Rookie of the Week nomination of the season. The rookie is up against Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, running back Josh Jacobs, defensive end Maxx Crosby of the Oakland Raiders and cornerback Marvell Tell of the Indianapolis Colts.
Fans can vote for Samuel at NFL.com/Rookies through Friday at 12 p.m. PT to determine the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week.
