SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Today the San Francisco 49ers extended their commitment to sustainability by announcing increased corporate partner support for the Faithful to the Planet initiative. A first-of-its-kind program in sports, Faithful to the Planet unites powerful, global brands to champion environmental stewardship. Now in its third year, the 49ers-led effort features 13 corporate partner members.

Founded in 2023 as an innovative partner coalition dedicated to sustainability and environmental conservation, Faithful to the Planet includes members from a wide range of corporate industries like technology, retail, automotive, food & beverage, and more. Joining this fiscal year are 49ers partners Lexus, NetApp, and PG&E. These influential companies share in the 49ers mission to make a collective impact for good by leveraging and participating in the program to create a better environment for future generations. Since inception, Faithful to the Planet has committed over $100,000 to global environmental organizations.

With help from Dollar Donation Club, all funds support three environmental organizations within the Faithful to the Planet program: Save the Redwoods League, Plastic Fischer, and Trees for the Future. Collectively, the 49ers and its participating partners have now restored 333,538 square feet of redwoods, removed 71,669 pounds of ocean-bound plastic from rivers, and planted 91,807 trees across Africa in just three years.

"What began as an ambitious vision has grown into an impactful movement, fueled by the shared commitment to environmentalism between our corporate partners and the 49ers," said Ryan Connors, 49ers Senior Director, Global Partnerships Sales & Strategy. "In addition to the lasting impact being made to these projects, our coalition has evolved to where our FTTP members are joining together to attend sustainability summits and local volunteer efforts, while also collaborating on joint retail promotions and connecting on global impact efforts. We're proud to have established a model for sustainability in professional sports and look forward to continuing our efforts to benefit the planet alongside our partners."

Last week in celebration of Earth Day and the newly joined partners, the 49ers hosted their second-annual Faithful to the Planet Summit at Cadence Headquarters in San Jose, California, just minutes away from Levi's® Stadium. Cadence, a Faithful to the Planet member since 2024, shared its commitment to Earth Week and overall green business practices by showcasing to Summit attendees its on-site community garden where staff can grow and harvest their own produce. Representatives from 11 Faithful to the Planet partners attended the Summit.

"Our goals of reducing emissions—for ourselves, our customers, and our partner organizations—are something we consider every day, and we are thrilled to support the 49ers in their efforts to do so as well."
