The San Francisco 49ers announced on Wednesday that they have signed offensive lineman Mike Person to a one-year deal.
Person (6-4, 299), originally entered the NFL as the second of three seventh-round draft picks (239th overall) by the 49ers in the 2011 NFL Draft. After being inactive for all 16 regular season games and both postseason contests his rookie season, he went on to spend time with the Seattle Seahawks (2012-13), St. Louis Rams (2014), Atlanta Falcons (2015-16), Kansas City Chiefs (2016-17) and Indianapolis Colts (2017). Throughout his seven-year career (2011-17), he has appeared in 43 games (18 starts). Last season, Person spent training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs and was released from the team on September 2, 2017. He later signed with the Indianapolis Colts on October 3, 2017, and went on to appear in 12 games (four starts).
A 29-year-old native of Glendive, MT, Person attended Montana State University, where he started all 42 games in which he appeared on the offensive line for the Bobcats, including the final 35 straight. As a senior, Person earned First-Team All-Big Sky Conference honors in 2010, starting all 12 games and helping lead MSU to a Conference Championship and the FCS Playoffs.
