The San Francisco 49ers announced on Saturday that they have promoted DB Tyvis Powell to the active roster from the team's practice squad. In order to make room on the roster, the team has waived QB Tom Savage.
Powell (6-3, 211) was promoted to the 49ers active roster on September 22, 2018 from the team's practice squad where he appeared in two games and registered one special teams tackle prior to his release on October 6. He was re-signed to the team's practice squad on October 9.
Powell will wear number 30.
Savage (6-4, 230) originally signed with the 49ers as a free agent on October 16, 2018.
