NaVorro Bowman suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the San Francisco 49ers Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
The club confirmed on Monday that the team's All-Pro linebacker will miss the remainder of the 2016 season. Bowman went down with a non-contact injury in the third quarter against the Cowboys. Prior to the injury, Bowman recorded 24 tackles, one sack, two pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble this season.
The 49ers will look to Michael Wilhoite, Gerald Hodges, Nick Bellore and Shayne Skov to handle the inside linebacker roles going forward.
"If NaVorro is out for this week or an extended period of time it'll be really those four that you will see in there," Chip Kelly said prior to the injury announcement. "Bellore, Wilhoite, Hodge, and Skov. Those are the four we've got."
Bowman led the NFL in tackles in 2015. He signed a four-year extension with San Francisco prior to the 2016 regular season.
