The San Francisco 49ers have announced their game themes for all 10 home games during the 2017 season. Team president Al Guido made the announcement during Wednesday's "State of the Franchise" event.
Two of the year's biggest gamedays will be the home opener in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers and a Week 7 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Panthers game will feature the induction of Tom Rathman into the Edward J. DeBartolo, Sr. San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame. The franchise's legendary fullback spent 23 combined years with the organization (15 as a coach and eight as a player).
On Oct. 22 against the Cowboys, the annual cancer awareness day will be combined with Dwight Clark Day. The game will serve as an opportunity to honor the former 49ers wide receiver and raise awareness for ALS. It will be fitting to have Dallas in town as "The Catch" was against the Cowboys back in the 1981 NFC Championship Game.
Salute to Service, which will take place in Week 10 against the New York Giants, is another annual favorite. That game will feature special pre-game and halftime entertainment to honor the men and women who serve our country.
One final date to mark on your calendar is Nov. 26, a Week 12 home game against the Seattle Seahawks, which will be the team's inaugural First Responders Appreciation Day. That's two consecutive games dedicated to those who protect our freedom and ensure our safety both at home and abroad.
Single game tickets are now on sale. Make sure you are a part of this year's biggest games. Below is a graphic detailing every gameday theme in 2017.
