Corry Rush is in his 22nd season in the NFL and fourth as vice president of football communications for the 49ers. He joined San Francisco after spending the previous seven seasons (2014-20) with the New York Giants as vice president of communications (2016-21) and director of communications (2014-2016).
Rush led a 49ers public relations staff that for the first time in franchise history won the 2024 Pete Rozelle Award by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA). The Rozelle Award is given to the NFL club public relations staff that consistently strives for excellence in its dealings and relationships with the media. The award is named for Rozelle, NFL commissioner from 1960-89, who started his distinguished career in sports PR roles.
Prior to his time with the Giants, Rush spent seven seasons with the NFL's Communications and Public Affairs department, originally joining the league office as AFC Information Manager before being promoted to director of AFC Communications in 2011. Rush was responsible for generating all football publicity for the National Football League's American Football Conference, while serving as the primary liaison for local and national media outlets and broadcast partners that cover the AFC clubs. Additionally, Rush worked on publicity efforts for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, AFC Championship Game, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl, Scouting Combine, Regional Combine, NFL Draft, Rookie Symposium, NFL-USO Tour (Afghanistan) and the International Series (London).
Rush began his NFL career as a community relations intern with the Tennessee Titans in 2003 before working as a public relations intern with the Denver Broncos in 2004. He spent the 2004 regular season as a gameday assistant in the public relations department with the Houston Texans, before returning to Tennessee to work in the Titans public relations department (2005-07).
Rush was selected to participate in the 2023 NFL League of Leaders Program at Stanford's Graduate School of Business. The executive program is designed to accelerate the development of the NFL's senior talent through a thought-provoking, hands-on curriculum.
Rush earned a baseball scholarship at Texas Southern University, where he received his bachelor's degree in Marketing. He also earned an MBA at TSU. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
A native of Memphis, TN, Rush and his wife, Nadia, have one son, Pierce.
