On Jerick McKinnon: 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has very specific traits he wants in offensive roles. So McKinnon's versatility as a back (a la Coleman/Freeman), and the need to have 2 guys like that made him a priority.

Smart by #49ers to sign C Weston Richburg. His mobility fits the scheme and expands the backfield screen game. Also shores up interior pass protection, which was an issue.
