San Francisco 49ers and MYXR Join Forces on First-Of-Its-Kind Augmented Reality Partnership

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday a multi-year relationship with MYXR, Inc. as the team's official augmented reality partner. Through this first-of-its-kind partnership, MYXR's Augmented Reality (AR) Platform will significantly expand the 49ers fan experience at Levi's® Stadium and the team's digital channels by building on the team's history of delivering innovative AR offerings for fans.

The alliance establishes MYXR as a key strategic partner for AR solutions within the sports industry and the first AR company to sign a multi-year partnership with a professional sports team.

The multi-year strategic partnership with MYXR and its Experience Platform™ creates a collaboration that will enable the 49ers to improve on its ground-breaking uses of AR from the last two years. To help celebrate the team's 70th anniversary in 2016, the 49ers distributed AR trading cards to fans at home games that brought historic moments from the organization's storied past to life with the use of a mobile phone. Last year the team created a similar application with souvenir collector's cups available exclusively at the team's in-stadium convenience store.

During the 2018 regular season, the 49ers will introduce the first of its new MYXR Experiences to its fans, currently in development in collaboration with the 49ers sponsorship and marketing teams. With an average of over 70,000 fans attending home games, and over 7.5 million on social media, the 49ers feature one of the largest and most passionate fan bases in all of sports.
