Nick Bosa put up arguably the best outing of his young NFL career on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns – that says a lot when the rookie already led the team with 17 pressures through three contests heading into Week 5.
San Francisco's No. 2 overall pick's performance on "Monday Night Football" earned him a Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week nomination. Bosa racked up two sacks, three quarterback hits, four quarterback hurries, four total tackles and his first-career forced fumble and fumble recovery in the 31-3 victory over Cleveland.
Bosa is the only 49ers player to register 2.0 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in a single-game in the last 25 years, according of ESPN Stats & Info. Bosa also became the first 49ers rookie with at least 2.0 sacks in a game since DeForest Buckner at Buffalo Bills in Oct. 2016.
Bosa also earned honors on Pro Football Focus’ “Team of Week,” notching a whopping 92.3 overall grade in the primetime showdown.
The 49ers edge rusher is up against Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs and Carolina Panthers linebacker Brian Burns for the Rookie of the Week honors.
Fans can vote for Bosa at NFL.com/rookies through Friday at 12 p.m. PT to determine the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. The Pepsi Rookie of the Week will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
