Owners voted to ratify a competition committee proposal making several tweaks to instant replay rules, the NFL announced on Tuesday.
The measure modifies the language regarding which plays are subject to review and enables on-field officials to consult with the league in New York during the review process.
The changes do not permit discussion about judgment calls but do allow for officials to check the correct application of playing rules.
Additionally, penalty enforcement, proper down, spot of a foul and status of the game clock will now all be reviewable.
Owners previously rejected a proposal to make all plays reviewable except for certain penalties.
Here are the other rules changes that have been adopted this offseason.
