The Golden State Warriors are already retooling and loading up for another championship run next season. On Monday, NBA superstar Kevin Durant announced via The Players Tribune that he would be signing with the Warriors as a free agent. Golden State hasn't made the signing of the seven-time all-star official as of yet, but that should happen in the coming days.
Several members of the San Francisco 49ers took to social media to share their reaction to Durant's decision to come to join Steph Curry and Co. The list includes NaVorro Bowman, who grew up playing basketball with Durant in the Washington D.C area.
"We played on the same middle school basketball team," Durant said of Bowman during NBA All-Star weekend in 2013 via CSN Bay Area. "And, surprisingly, he was the best player on the team. I was kind of like his sidekick. I really thought he was going to the NBA, but he didn't grow."
Bowman now has more incentive to root for the Dubs in 2016.
"Every time the Warriors and Thunder played, Warriors fans got UPSET because I would cheer for the Thunder & my longtime friend," Bowman wrote on Instragram. "Now there's no more issues lol.....#letsgodubs #TurnUp."
Take a look at all of the social posts as Bowman and a few other Niners welcomed the big free-agent addition to the Bay Area.
