What is the most pressing offseason need for the San Francisco 49ers?
Well, it depends on who you ask.
The team has three wide receivers from 2013 under contract in 2014, so one might point to the pass-catching position as an area of need.
Others might look at defensive back where the 49ers have three cornerbacks (Tarell Brown, Eric Wright and Perrish Cox) set to hit free agency.
Count CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco in that group. The veteran beat writer listed his top 10 areas of need in the offseason and cornerback was atop the list.
"Tramaine Brock is a starter. Chris Culliver, returning from a knee injury that kept him out the entire season, will be back to compete for a job," Maiocco wrote. "Carlos Rogers turns 33 in July, and his status is uncertain due to his hefty contract. The 49ers have not drafted a cornerback in the first two rounds since Shawntae Spencer in 2004. It's about time."
The future at cornerback appears to include Tramaine Brock as one of San Francisco's starters. The next few months will likely determine who lines up opposite of No. 26.
Here are Maiocco's other nine offseason needs for the 49ers. Backup quarterback is No. 7 on the list, one could argue that securing a No. 2 signal-caller will be one of team's top priorities this offseason. Colt McCoy is a free agent and the team has at least 11 draft picks in the upcoming draft.

Maiocco also wrote about the best timing for offseason trades. Bill Williamson of ESPN.com continued his ranking of the top 60 player son San Francisco's roster.
