Christian McCaffrey Questionable for Season Opener; Injury Report #NYJvsSF
The San Francisco 49ers have a few question marks heading into their Week 1 "Monday Night Football" matchup versus the New York Jets. Following the team's final practice of the week, head coach Kyle Shanahan listed running back Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) and guard Aaron Banks (finger) as questionable heading into the season opener. While both have not been fully cleared for game action as of now, Banks and McCaffrey were limited participants in all three of the team's workouts this week.

The San Francisco 49ers will welcome in a familiar foe, the New York Jets, on Monday night for their first season opener at Levi's® Stadium since the 2020 season. The Jets and 49ers haven't actually played each other in the regular season since 2021 and also haven't battled it out on "Monday Night Football" in nearly 25 years, but the reason the term "familiar" seems fitting here is because there are a lot of close connections between the two organizations.

This group is voted on by their teammates for their leadership and this time around, includes seven players who have previously been captains - LT Trent Williams, LB Fred Warner, TE George Kittle, WR Deebo Samuel Sr., QB1 Brock Purdy, DL Nick Bosa and RB Christian McCaffrey - and first timer FB Kyle Juszczyk.
