The league's leading rusher in yards (274) and yards per carry (8.6) through the first three weeks of the season looks to continue the trend on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers announced Matt Breida will play against the Los Angeles Chargers. Breida suffered a right knee injury against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 and was limited leading up to Sunday's contest.
Alfred Morris is also active against the Chargers as he was questionable with a knee injury leading up to Sunday.
Unfortunately for San Francisco's secondary that has been dealing with a heap of injuries, Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) will miss his second straight game. Antone Exum, who was downgraded as questionable on Saturday, will get the start in his place.
Here's a full list of the 49ers inactives for Week 4.
- WR Richie James Jr.
- CB Richard Sherman
- S Jaquiski Tartt
- G Joshua Garnett
- OL Najee Toran
- DL Jullian Taylor
- T Shon Coleman
The 49ers will catch a break as the Chargers will be without star defensive tackle Joey Bosa (foot). Offensive tackle Joe Barksdale (knee) and linebacker Kyzir White (knee) are also inactive.
