The San Francisco 49ers received good news as they are set to face the Arizona Cardinals on "Thursday Night Football." Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert are active in the primetime showdown as both were questionable heading into the short week. Breida suffered an ankle injury in the first half of Sunday's contest against the Carolina Panthers, while Mostert was dealing with a knee injury. Both running backs will be on hand to aid Tevin Coleman against the Cardinals 25th-ranked rushing defense.
Marquise Goodwin (personal) will miss his second-straight game on Thursday night. Goodwin was excused by the team last week to tend to a personal matter and rejoined practice this week. Given the short turnaround and limited practices heading into Thursday night, the team is likely to err on the side of caution in Week 9.
As for the Cardinals, they will be running thin at running back as Chase Edmonds and David Johnson are ruled out for Thursday's game. New addition Kenyan Drake, who the Cardinals traded for this week, will be the team's primary back.
It's worth noting the Cardinals are also without their starting right tackle Justin Murray. Guard Justin Pugh will slide over in his place.
