Joe Staley is glad he can laugh about it now.
The 49ers left tackle scared everyone at the end of Thursday night's 35-11 win over the St. Louis Rams with what seemed like a season-ending injury.
Staley went down with a leg injury and his loud agonizing screams could be heard on the television broadcast. Shortly after Staley's painful moment, a training cart was wheeled on to the field to take the Pro Bowl tackle to the locker room.
It wasn't needed.
Staley limped off the field and avoided a major injury.
"We dodged a bullet there," Jim Harbaugh said after the game.
Staley produced an epic tweet after the game to share his health status.
I'm good. And I scream like no dude should ever scream lol my bad. — Joe Staley (@jstaley74) September 27, 2013
On Friday morning, the 49ers left tackle confirmed he was feeling much better.
"That was not my finest moment," Staley told 95.7 the Game. "I felt a pop and thought I messed up my foot pretty good, but the x-rays turned out OK."
"I'm a little sore but nothing 10 days off can't heal," Staley went on to say.
Looking back on the moment, Staley was most happy that he didn't need to be carted off the field.
"After 10 seconds of me screaming, I realized I was fine," he said. "If I got on that cart, I would never live that down. I'm already not going to live this down in the locker room."
Staley's moment in the spotlight, rare for an offensive lineman, received a lot of talk on social media.
