Frank Gore is one of three nominees for the Week 5 FedEx Ground Player of the Week award.
The 49ers running back carried the ball 17 times for 81 yards and a touchdown in San Francisco's 34-3 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday night. Gore finished San Francisco's first offensive drive against Houston, a 12-play, 65-yard journey, with a one-yard run into the end zone.
Over the past three games, the franchise's all-time rushing king has averaged 16 carries and 105 yards, or 6.6 yards per rush.
In addition to Gore, ball carriers Jamaal Charles (Kansas City Chiefs) and Knowshon Moreno (Denver Broncos), who racked up 108 and 93 yards respectively, round out the FedEx Ground nominees. Both Charles and Moreno also scored a touchdown for their teams.
All three runing backs can make cases for taking home the Week 4 honor, but the fans have the final say in who wins.
