Brandon Lloyd picked up his Bay Area radio interview presence like he never left.
The veteran wideout had "KNBR Morning Show" listeners thoroughly entertained on their way into work. Lloyd explained his many interests off the field (working the past four seasons at a specialty metal service center for airplanes, recording licensed hip-hop music and making a cameo in an upcoming zombie movie).
He also detailed the reasons for signing a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers after sitting out of football in 2013.
"The reasons for me resuming my career changes every day," Lloyd told host Brian Murphy. "In reality, I've always longed to be back in San Francisco. Since the many years I've been gone, the organization has improved dramatically. I've improved dramatically as a player and as a person."
Lloyd was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the 49ers in 2003. Lloyd has played for six NFL franchises and said he was pleased to return to his roots this offseason.

Lloyd said he wanted to come back to win a Super Bowl.
"Every person wants to say, 'I want to be on a championship-caliber team," Lloyd said. "San Francisco, this is the team. They've proven that over the last three seasons. The opportunity presented itself for me to return to football and I couldn't see myself attempting it for any other organization."
Lloyd was a member of the 49ers from 2003-05 and finished his first stint with 105 receptions for 1,510 yards and 13 touchdowns. In '05, Lloyd recorded team-highs in receptions (48), receiving yards (733) and receiving touchdowns (five).
Lloyd was 21 when he joined the NFL and felt like his outgoing personality wasn't the right fit for a struggling 49ers team back then.
Since that experience, Lloyd has grown into a professional. He learned from being in St. Louis around a star running back like Steven Jackson and later in New England while playing with elite quarterback Tom Brady. Lloyd said their work ethic stood out the most.
The veteran wideout carries that into his return to football.
"Those are the motivating qualities you find as a player," Lloyd said.
Lloyd has thrown himself into the mix at the start of the team's voluntary offseason program. Although he hasn't spent a great deal of time with his new quarterback, Colin Kaepeernick, the recently acquired receiver is certainly aware of the talent Kaepernick possesses.
"Colin has done a fantastic job thus far in his career and I'm sure he's looking forward to improving on that," Lloyd said. "All we're here to do is help him and assist him and help the organizaton do that."
Lloyd concluded his first interview back with the team by summing up his brief exposure to the new-look 49ers:
"Being around it is bringing the fire out and the passion back," the 32-year-old wideout said.
