Dwaine Board, DE, 1979-88
Fred was a great person and a great player. He was a teammate who really helped put us over the top and did what he needed to do to help us win the Super Bowl. Pound-for-pound he was one of the strongest and toughest guys I've ever been around.
He was a great pass rusher and knew how to use his hands to fight off linemen. He used great leverage. As a coach (defensive line coach with Seattle Seahawks), I use a lot of the techniques I saw and learned from Fred to teach our players.
