The four-year veteran appeared in all 64 regular season games since joining the 49ers as a sixth-round draft pick. Dixon started at fullback for the 49ers in the team's recent NFC title game loss to the Seattle Seahawks and also was a core special teams player throughout his time in San Francisco.
Dixon totaled 148 carries for 458 yards and eight rushing touchdowns with the 49ers.
