With a 10-yard catch in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bears, Anquan Boldin reached 13,000 receiving yards for his career. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver entered the Week 13 contest just 36 yards shy of the mark and is now the 18th receiver in NFL history to reach the milestone.
Six of the players ahead of Boldin - Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, James Lofton, Cris Carter, Andre Reed and Steve Largent - are in the Hall of Fame with players like Randy Moss and Tony Gonzalez likely to join in years to come. Largent is the next player on the list ahead of Boldin with 13,089 career receiving yards.
Following the eventual 26-20 overtime win, Boldin only wanted to focus on the victory.
"I'm happy we got a win today," Boldin said. "We've had a tough season and wins are hard to come by in this league. Whenever you can get one, you definitely have to be satisfied with it. The way we had to fight to get it makes it even more exciting."
Also, with five receptions in the game, Boldin (989) is closing in on 1,000 for his career. When he reaches 1,000, he will tie Hines Ward on the all-time receptions list. Boldin passed Moss (982) last week against the Arizona Cardinals when he caught eight passes for 93 yards.
