Pros vs. G.I. Joes allows professional athletes to play live video games with our troops deployed stateside and overseas.
To continue celebrating San Francisco Fleet Week, the 49ers hosted Pros vs. G.I. Joes presented by PlayStation and EA SPORTS, at Levi's® Stadium on Wednesday, October 7. Facilitated by the nonprofit organization Joint Forces Initiative (JFI), which connects professional athletes with our troops deployed stateside and overseas to play live video games, the event aimed to celebrate and honor our servicemen and women for their sacrifice through interactive gameplay on PS4 consoles provided by Sony PlayStation. 49ers players such as WR Torrey Smith, NT Ian Williams, CB Kenneth Acker, WR DiAndre Campbell, TE Garrett Celek, RB Mike Davis, RB Kendall Gaskins, TE L.J. McCray, WR Shayne Skov, and NT Garrison Smith were present to play video games supplied by EA SPORTS against the 12 military personnel onsite. Through a unique relationship with the USO, JFI also utilized today's advanced technology to connect 49ers players and troops overseas live via Internet and webcam.
