The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to a one-year deal.
Lloyd (6-0, 200) returns to San Francisco where he was originally drafted in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft. He was a member of the 49ers from 2003-05 and registered a total of 105 receptions for 1,510 yards and 13 touchdowns in his three seasons with the club. In 2005, he recorded team-highs in receptions (48), receiving yards (733) and receiving touchdowns (five).
Throughout his 10-year career, Lloyd has played for the Washington Redskins (2006-07), Chicago Bears (2008), Denver Broncos (2009-11), St. Louis Rams (2011) and New England Patriots (2012). With Denver in 2010, he led the league in receiving yards (1,448) and ranked fourth in receiving touchdowns (11). In his career, Lloyd has played in 128 games (88 starts) and tallied 385 receptions for 5,695 yards and 35 touchdowns. He last played for the Patriots in 2012, recording 74 receptions for 911 yards and four touchdowns.
A 32-year-old native of Kansas City, MO, Lloyd played collegiately at the University of Illinois, where he finished his career with 155 catches for 2,527 yards and 19 touchdowns.
