The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have signed cornerback Will Redmond to a four-year deal.
Redmond (6-0, 186) was selected by the 49ers in the third round (68th overall) of this year's draft out of Mississippi State University. During his three-year career with the Bulldogs, he played in 27 games (seven starts) and registered 99 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions and eight passes defensed. As a senior, started all seven games in which he appeared and notched 25 tackles, two interceptions and one pass defensed. In 2014, Redmond played in 12 games and led the Bulldogs with three interceptions while also tallying 51 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and five passes defensed. As a sophomore, he played in 8 games and registered 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two passes defensed.
A 22-year old native of Memphis, Tenn., Redmond attended East High School in Memphis.
