The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed seventh-round draft choice S Curtis Taylor to a four-year contract. The team also announced that it has waived CB Jimmy Williams.

Taylor (6-2, 209) appeared in 50 career games (22 starts) during his LSU career. In that span, he recorded 112 tackles, two sacks, 11 passes defensed, five interceptions and one fumble recovery. Taylor played in 13 games (9 starts) in 2008, recording 43 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and one fumble recovery. In 2007, he helped LSU to a national championship by registering 54 tackles, one sack, and three interceptions.

The 23-year-old Taylor is a native of Franklinton, LA. He becomes the third of the 49ers seven 2009 draft picks to sign with the team.

Williams (6-3, 220) was originally drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round (37th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. He spent the 2008 season out of football before being signed by the 49ers in January of 2009.
