The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have signed FB Jehuu Caulcrick to a future contract.
Caulcrick (6-0, 250) was signed by the N.Y. Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2008 NFL Draft. He was released at the final cut down and later signed to the Jets practice squad where he spent a majority of the 2008 season. Caulcrick re-signed with the Jets in January 2009 only to be released during final cuts on September 5, 2009. He re-signed to the practice squad a day later, but was released from the Jets practice squad prior to Week 1. Caulcrick was later signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad on December 29.
Caulcrick, a 26-year-old native of Findley Lake, NY, played collegiately at Michigan State, where he rushed for 2,395 yards on 532 attempts (4.5 avg.) and 39 touchdowns, the second-most in Michigan State history.
