Take a look back at the best images of the San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame defensive back.
A recent look at the best-selling throwback jerseys per state displayed the popularity of two San Francisco 49ers legends around the country.
In 2014, Mitchell & Ness indicated that Joe Montana had the top throwback jersey in the state of California. This year, however, "Joe Cool" was surpassed by Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. Given that this year is a retirement season for "The Mamba," Montana's drop makes total sense.
But two other Niner legends were among the jerseys represented in the cross-country map of popular throwbacks.
If you look closely at the state of Alaska and Nebraska you'll find Ronnie Lott's 42 jersey and Steve Young's No. 8 being represented.
You don't have to live in those states to rep those or any other classic Niner throwbacks. The 49ers team store sells them year-round in the Bay Area and you can cop 'em at the team's official online store (if you live in Alaska, Nebraska or any other state ending with "aska.")
Do you have a favorite Niner throwback jersey?
