On Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the 2nd annual 49ers/USA Football Northern California State Leadership Forum at the Club's Training Facility in Santa Clara. Youth football administrators from around the state were in attendance.
The group gathered for a day-long meeting to further strengthen Northern California youth football programs and ensure positive experiences for youth, parents, coaches and game officials.
The youth football administrators, representing over 3,000 coaches and 10,000 youth football players, spent the day discussing best practices, issues and concerns facing youth football programs in California while also receiving a wealth of information about 49ers Youth Football programs and USA Football.
"By hosting the Northern California State Forum, the 49ers are showing our continued commitment to local youth football leagues," said Ryan Myers, 49ers Youth Football Representative. "We're proud to support USA Football and the sport's future by positively impacting the game in our community."
In 2009 the State Forum has expanded to dozens of regions nationwide, uniting the various youth football leagues.
"Youth Football Leaders from Northern California have come together to discuss important topics surrounding the sport of football," said Bassel Faltas, Northwest Manager for USA Football. "The San Francisco 49ers and USA Football are leading the development and shaping the future of America's Greatest Sport. The support of the 49ers organizations has allowed us to meet as a collective group of league administrators in an effort to strengthen the game of football."
