Both Chip Kelly and Jim O'Neil agree that DeForest Buckner had his best game of the season in Week 14 against the New York Jets.
The San Francisco 49ers first-round pick led the team with 11 tackles, two sacks and four total quarterback hits.
"The more he plays the more he understands what we're trying to get accomplished over there," Kelly said on Monday. "He plays with such great effort and such a great motor and just loves playing football."
Pro Football Focus agrees with Kelly's assessment. The football analysis website handed Buckner a grade of 82.8, his highest of the year. The rookie also recorded a game-high seven stops according to PFF.
Buckner's standout performance has earned him a nomination for Pepsi's Rookie of the Week award. Here's how you can vote for the seventh-overall pick in 2016, who now has five sacks on the season.
