The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have tendered one-year contracts to exclusive rights free agent CB Tramaine Brock and restricted free agent LB Larry Grant.
Brock (5-10, 197) was originally signed by the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent on 4/26/10 out of Belhaven University. He has seen action in 14 games and two postseason contests in his two-year career, posting 14 tackles and two interceptions. Brock has also been a steady contributor on special teams, totaling five tackles. The 23-year-old is a native of Gulfport, MS.
Grant (6-1, 251) was originally a 7th-round (214th overall) selection by the 49ers in the 2008 NFL Draft, out of Ohio State. He rejoined the 49ers in 2011 after spending the previous three seasons with the St. Louis Rams. Grant played in all 16 games (3 starts) and both postseason contests last season, setting a career-high in tackles (30), while recording 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble. He has played in 50 games (11 starts) in his four-year career, and recorded 62 tackles, 5.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Grant has also made an impact on special teams, posting 10 tackles, in 2011. The 26-year-old is a native of Santa Rosa, CA.
